How long are the tours?

On average a Full Day tour will visit 4 wineries and take approximately 8 hours and a Half Day tour will visit 2 wineries and take approximately 5 hours. For beginners we suggest choosing from one of our standard Featured Tours.

If you choose from one of our standard tours we will provide you with an itinerary however you are in charge while on your tour!  If you want to linger longer or leave early then please feel free to do so.

For those with more Texas Wine experience, since you are renting on an hourly basis custom itineraries which deviate from our standard tours are no problem - simply contact our staff via phone or email for help with your custom itinerary. We are very familiar with the travel times between wineries and in the hill country, as well as the various hours the wineries are open on a daily basis and can help you determine how long you will need the vehicle for based on the wineries you would like to visit.

How much do the tours cost?

Total tour prices vary depending on which vehicle you select on how many hours you are in the vehicle.  Tour prices can be as low as $80 per person for a Full Day tour and $50 per person for a Half Day tour, not including chauffeur's 20% gratuity.  For fleet charter rates please visit our rates page.

To get an estimated cost for your tour multiply your vehicle's hourly rate times the number of hours in your tour (i.e. 8 hours for a full day tour or 5 hours for a half day tour).  Don't forget to add 20% gratuity to your final total.

What if I just need one or two tickets?

At TexasWineTours.com we specialize in private, custom tours in which you charter a vehicle for the day specifically for your group. If your group size is small (one or two people) we suggest renting one of our Towncar sedans as it is the most affordable vehicle for small groups.

Occasionally we do offer Public Tours on specific dates (usually about once a month on Sundays). If you are looking for a public tour in which you buy an individual ticket and ride in a bus or limousine with other people then please sign up for our mailing list to be notified by email about upcoming public tour dates as they are announced.

Where exactly does our group get picked up?

TexasWineTours.com offers pickup at no extra charge at your location (home, business or hotel) anywhere in Austin, Round Rock, Pflugerville, Lakeway, Georgetown or surrounding areas.

We also pickup in San Antonio, San Marcos, New Braunfels, and anywhere in the Hill Country such as Dripping Springs, Fredericksburg or Marble Falls. Additional hourly charter fees may apply for pickups in these areas. Call us at 512-329-7007 or 1-800-940-7007 to discuss specifics.

If your group is large we suggest having everyone meet at one location rather than doing multiple pickups, however we will be happy to arrange pick ups according to whatever your requirements are.

We will be happy to suggest a central meeting location if you do not have one for your group.

What are the options for lunch?

Lunch options fall into 3 categories:

1) You are welcome to bring your own snacks/lunch and eat in the limousine or have a picnic lunch at one of the wineries

2) We can provide a deli box lunch for $9.99 per person which includes a deli sandwich of your choice, chips, pickle, cookie and drink

3) We can arrange a stop at a local restaurant during the tour.

Please note that stopping at a restaurant will generally add an extra hour to the full day tour schedule.

Can we bring wine/alcohol in the vehicle?

Yes.  Limousine and tour companies are not allowed by Texas law to provide alcohol, however you may bring any alcoholic beverage of your choice.

We suggest keeping the drinking light in the limousine during the tour so as to keep your palette clean and get the most out of the wine tastings at the wineries.

Many groups enjoy sipping on mimosas during the morning ride out to the wineries and opening a bottle of their favorite wine of the day during the ride home.

Are there tasting or tour fees at the wineries?

Some wineries offer complimentary tastings and some charge a fee that varies from $2 to $5.50 per person. It is your responsibility to pay this fee directly to the winery and for small groups these fees are not included in your tour price.

For large groups of 10 or more people we will collect your wine tasting fee in advance when you book your tour with us and pay it directly to the winery when you arrive for your tasting. We collect the fee in advance so that we can communicate the correct headcount of your group with the wineries for their staffing planning.
